Uganda’s representatives in the 2016 CAF Confederations Cup, Sport Club Villa have departed today for Zanzibar ahead of Friday’s return leg with JKU in the annual competition.
The Jogoos head into the tie with a 4-0 advantage having thumped their first round opponents by 4-0 at Namboole Stadium last weekend during the first leg. Mike Ndera, Mike Sserumaga, Umar Kasumba and Godfrey Lwesibawa scored for the Jogoos.
According to the clubs Public Relations Officer (PRO), Abu Zikusooka Senabulya, the travelling contingent consists of 16 players and 5 officials.
“SC Villa team of 16 players and 5 officials leave in the morning hours at around 3.00am for the return leg in Zanzibar this Friday 18th March,” Abu posted on his Facebook wall yesterday.
Mr. Ariga Rasoul will lead the contingent with the clubs technical director Frank ‘Video’ Anyau who also doubles as the team’s first coach in this competition, coach Ibrahim Kirya, manager Mugwanya Valley and Dr. Mike as the officials.
The 16 players include; Jonathan Mugabi, Isaac Muleme, Sebwato Nicolas, Ashadu Bugembe, Henry Katongole, Misi Katende, Eng. Lwanga Tadeo, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Eturude Abel, Kirya Ambrose, Mike Ndera, Mike Sserumaga, Achema Robert, Umaru Kasumba, Patrick Mbowa and Kasule Abdulkarim
