Judith Babirye

Buikwe Woman Member of Parliament elect Judith Babirye has assured her fans that she will not quit music despite joining active politics in parliament.

The singer noted that music is her life and it is what has pushed her that far. Leaving it, she said, would mean denying herself.

“I will remain in the music industry, except that I will be holding less concerts and shows this time,” she said while speaking to press at the ongoing NRM MPs retreat in Kyankwanzi.

She promised to come out soon and reveal a new way that she will be juggling the two fields.

“Church too is part of me; I am in music, church and parliament and ready to serve at all fronts,” she added.

Babirye further promised not to forget about her fellow musicians while conducting her parliamentary work. “My moving to parliament is a blessing to the music industry. I will be giving space to other musicians out there to shine and helping them in every possible way.”

Babirye vowed to always keep in touch with the people of Buikwe and effectively represent them before parliament.

We are yet to hear from Kato Lubwama, Rubaga South MP elect whether he will juggle comedy and political affairs.
