The festival which is being organized by Bayimba Cultural Foundation in partnership with Kampala Film School and the Goethe Zentrum – Kampala, will take place on the weekend of 16th-20th March 2016 at the Uganda Museum.

As the festival draws closer, the organisers of the festival held a press conference at National Theatre to enlighten more on the event.

“We shall be screening both in-competition and out of completion students and independent films, documentaries, short stories, animations, workshops for children and discussions with filmmakers and actors from Uganda, Africa and the rest of the world,” said Faisal Kiwewa of Bayimba Foundation.

The film festival will feature Uganda’s very own films which include; “Bala Bala Ssesse”, “Timbukutu”, and “My Prison Diary” among others.

Three Golden Impala Awards will also be handed out at the end of the festival to honour the Best International Feature Film, Best East Africa Short Film and the Best International Documentary Film after a thorough review of all the nominated films by the 3 appointed members of the jury.

Film enthusiasts will part with Shs 50,000 to have full access to the fun-filled event for all the five days.
