Politics is a dirty game, so dirty that it can make you forget about God. This is the dilemma that brand new Politician and gospel singer, Judith Babirye, who won the Buikwe Woman MP seat with over 80,000 votes, faces as we speak.
According to sources, Babirye who was campaigning in the past few months was so busy to the extent of missing church events. We have been told that the singer who had been paid to sing at one of the Christian gatherings couldn’t make it after several calls went unanswered because she was busy campaigning, leaving her fans at Ruharo cathedral in Mbarara angry at her.
One source says that it seems the singer has decided to put God aside and concentrate on Politics, a thing that could end up affecting her salvation and all those people who look up to her.
Some people have expressed doubts on whether she will be able to sing again once she joins Parliament which is known to be very busy and ruthless as opposition MPs force NRM MPs into saying and doing some ungodly things in the name of explaining why government runs the way it does.
But Babirye recently rubbished all these claims saying that she wants to be the iron lady of Ugandan politics. Judith who is inspired by Jennifer Musisi is prepared to serve God as she also serves her people back in Buikwe.
