When Morley Byekwaso crossed from Sports Club Victoria University (SC VU) to army side Simba Sports Club this season, he must have known he was heading in for a tough time at his new side.

Now ahead of the second round of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL), Byekwaso thinks that his side can do better and turn their season around. The Bombo based side finished 3rd bottom of the 16-team table after managing on only two wins and 6 draws that put them to a tally of 12 points after the first half of the season.

Having acquired about six players in the recently concluded January transfer window, the head tactician at the army side has set a goal of picking eight wins in the second half of the season if they are to survive relegation.

“Our target is picking maximum points from eight games. That will take us to at least 36 points and survival will be a guarantee then,” Byekwaso told Kawowo.

Having been knocked out of the Uganda Cup by Kiira Young 5-4 on penalties at the round of 64, they will surely have all their concentration on league survival.

The new recruits include; goalkeeper Joseph Ssebuliba, defenders Brian Ochwo and Joseph Otieno, midfielders Moses Gaale and Charles Ssemanda and striker Godfrey Wakaza.
