Off his much anticipated album, “Tebamanyi” is one of those songs that brings out rapper Big Sam’s signature laid back delivery yet laced with engaging solid lyricism.
The Lugaflow rapper poured his life story on a soft textured instrumentation. He weaves his lyrics with lucid expressions about how it all started; from a young man with multiple options and how he later choose rap over them.
He takes a nostalgic journey to the days he looked up to Ragga Dee on his “Digi” and Shanks Vivi D on TV, Sabrina’s pub events, rap Battle with Young Generations group. Its a Ugandan hip-hop history lecture of sorts.
He offers a raw slice of reality without mincing his words. The chorus relays a rather unsettling soul stirring message,”They don’t know how it was. It was about perseverance and hard work”, a loose translation of the Luganda ladden song.
He dedicates the last verse making a wake up call to all sleeping dogs. “Tebamanyi” comes off his upcoming album “Tutambula n’ abitambula” produced by Nase Port bell drive.
