You’ve got your eyes set on that cute new boy in town but getting him to notice you is proving impossible. Don’t worry; it’s not all that tough as long as you follow all the rules in the book. And a few of them that aren’t.
1. Be yourself: This is that one rule that everyone knows but no one follows. Seriously all that fake laughter and extra drama looks super fake. Just be yourself and let your real personality shine through.
2. Do a bit of stalking: Focus on the word ‘bit’. You need to have some dope on common topics and interests when you finally do get talking.
3. Look your usual awesome self: We are not saying dress up especially for him, but turning up in your PJs when you know he might be there too is a little uncool. Make sure you dress up like your usual awesome self to catch his eye.
4. Find some common friends: Put all that random Facebook browsing to good use and try finding a common friend or two. Best way to get an introduction.
5. Give him BIG hints: Passing by him? Give him a smile. Let him know that you are interested rather than hoping he’ll notice you and then acting like you aren’t interested. So much easier! (phew)
6. Take the initiative: If you know that you like him, and he doesn’t seem to get the hint, take the plunge. Go up to him say ‘hello’, and get talking. The worst that could happen is that he doesn’t respond to the friendly approach and honestly, you don’t want to date that mannerless guy anyway.
7. Drop some hints: Strike up innocent conversations and let him know that you are single and available.
8. Get that confidence in place: Think cool, confident and sexy. Yeah, be just that. Don’t get nervous when he is around; rather be yourself and let him know how cool you really are.
9. Get those planning shoes on: If he is in your college, make some group plans that involve him and his friends. At work, get that colleague who hangs with him to put you both in the same seminar so that you get to spend some time together.
10. Don’t be too out there: Letting him know that you are interested is great, but once that’s done, leave the second move to him. Don’t try to be overly available, after all everyone loves a good chase.
