With just 10 days left to the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in Kigali, Rwanda, Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has named a 26-man squad.
The squad was named after the lads had pitch training at Kabira Country club that followed a gym training session at Paradise Fitness Centre, Acacia Mall in Kampala.
During the naming, four players were dropped, starting with KCCA’s striker Nelson Senkatuka, Vipers’ defender Shafik Bakaki alongside Sadat Kyambadde and Edris Lubega.
The selected players left for residential training yesterday at the FUFA technical center in Njeru, Jinja ahead of the biennial tournament.
During the time at Njeru, the Cranes will have two international friendly matches against Gabon on Sunday 10th and another on Wednesday 13th after which Micho will name his final squad before the team flags off to Rwanda on 17th January.
Uganda whose opening game is on the 19th of January against West Africa’s Mali is seeded in Group D with the other two teams being Zimbabwe and Zambia.
