The World Soccer body FIFA has awarded Uganda a third Goal project worth US$400,000.

Moses Magogo, the newly elected FA President told MTNFootball.com that FIFA decided to reward Uganda because of the good work done over a long period of time.

“We are yet to decide where the Astro Turf pitch will be put up,” explained Magogo.

FIFA awarded the Ugandan FA with the first Goal project to build the FA headquarters at Mengo, 8kms out of the city centre, while the second project was building a technical centre which also has an Astro Turf Pitch in the Eastern town of Njeru.

Magogo said FIFA has also approved an administration and performance courses for Uganda which will take place in October.

“This is all coming because of Fufa’s good work and relationship with the world body,” added the FA President.

The FA President also thanked the government for the support they rendered to help the national team for the 2014 World Cup qualifier last weekend against Senegal.

“It is the first time in the history of Uganda that the fans are booked on a chartered flight to go watch the game. We thank President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for providing money to charter a plane for the 153 fans who traveled to support the team,” he added.
