At Kavumba Recreation Stadium in Wakiso, neither Police could arrest Maroons nor could the later lockup the Cops in a battle of forces in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).
The duel between the Cops and the wardens ended in a 2-2 draw with Maroons coming from two goals down to salvage a point on a day that put all odds against them. Erias Lubambula and Peter Ssenyonjo gave Police the deserved lead but Maroons were not willing to go down without a fight, with Denis Rukundo notching a double on the day.
Meanwhile, visitors Soana FC scored a late goal to deny Express FC maximum points at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
Usual suspect Ceaser Samson Okhuti was again on the score sheet, giving the Red Eagles a first half lead and extending his personal tally to six goals as league top scorer while Dan Sewava concealed the lead with a late strike.
Express and Soana remain in 3rd and 4th position on 17 points and 15 points respectively.
Elsewhere, the bad spell continued for army side Simba Sports Club as they lost 1-0 to Jinja based club Bul FC at the Bombo military stadium. Blaise Nkolo scored the only goal of the game to earn maximum points that put them in 6th place on 14 points
