Amos Ndyagumanawe aka ‘Real Shooter’, a player from the Skin Samona pool club, was crowned winner of the 2015 Nile Special National Pool Championship on Saturday.
The 25-year-old beat 127 other opponents to win the tournament in front on a mammoth crowd at the grand finale held at Lugogo indoor stadium.
The 2012 runner up beat his teammate and 2012 champion Alfred ‘Black Sheep’ Gumikiriza by 7-5 in the final to drive off with a brand new Toyota Mark II.
Besides the Mark II, Ndyagumanawe also won a cash prize of 2million Uganda Shillings, two pool tables and a winners’ jacket.
One of the biggest shocks of the evening came when newly crowned Kampala Open Champion, Simon ‘Computer’ Lubulwa was beaten by Cyrus Acri 3-2 in the opening round of the grand finale.
2014 champion Fahad ‘The Bee’ Ssewankambo was knocked out by Humphrey Nsubuga at the quarter-final stage of the competition.
