All clubs in the topflight will happily return to action on Tuesday, 27th October following a release of their money for the 2015/16 season by the league sponsors, Azam pay TV.

The delay in the release of the league sponsorship funds followed a controversy between FUFA and the league managers of FUFA Super League Limited (FSLL) when the two parties failed to agree on which accounts the money should be deposited to.

The federation claimed an expiry of contract for FSLL to run the league as well as a miss-allocation of funds from the previous season hence creating new accounts to which they wanted the funds wired prior to the start of the season, something that was adverse to the initial contract between the league sponsors, FUFA and the clubs.

Now that FSL and FUFA resolved their disputes after the former elected a new board and the FA agreed that the funds be handed to the FSLL accounts.

According to the new FSLL Secretary Peter Kibazo in a press conference held today morning at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, the money is available (Ugx. 400million for the first installment). The money was directly posted on the FSSL accounts and it’s from here where the respective beneficiaries will be paid. Each club received a fee of Ugx. 25 million for the first half of the season before the next that will complete the total of 50 million shillings.

In the same vein, the Federation got its 10% of the money that amounts to Ugx. 91.05 million plus the referees’ Ugx. 145 million.

The new FSSL board:

Chairman: Arinaitwe Rugyendo
Vice Chairman: Mr. David Serebe
Secretary: Mr. Peter Kibazo
Mr. Guy Kawuma (Member)
Mr. Humphrey Mandu (Member)
