Robert Sentongo

With just three days to Uganda Cranes game against the Falcons of Sudan, coach Micho has kicked Uganda Revenue Authority FC striker Robert Ssentongo out of the CHAN squad.

Ssentongo’s dismissal from the national team was confirmed by Milutin Sedrojevic yesterday after the Cranes lost 2-0 to Express FC  in a buildup match at Wankulukuku stadium.

“He has abused the nation and every Ugandan by not putting the national team first and thus is expelled from the team,” coach Micho is quoted on Kawowo.

“A national team isn’t a charity organisation where you just walk in and leave at any time you like. He hasn’t trained for three days now and that obviously rules him out of the team,” the Serbian further stated.

This comes after Ssentongo missed two days of training with the national team without giving any clear reasons for his failure to turn-up as expected.

It is however said that he (Ssentongo) is an alcoholic who has always missed training sessions with his club URA.
