Kalifah AgaNaga has received recognition in internationally acclaimed BEFFTA awards where he was nominated in the Best International African Act category. According to BEFFTA founder Pauline Long, this category was created to celebrate hardworking artistes that are sometimes unknown and need accomplished exposure. She further says that she established BEFFTA to encourage these individuals to carry on with their talents despite challenges.
Kalifah is to compete with our very own Eddy Kenzo, Sauti Sol, Radio and Weasel from East Africa then from West Africa Davido and WizKid.
What does this nomination mean for Kalifah AgaNaga, this is what his manager Emma Carlos had to say; “Apart from the recognition for his hardwork and good music the nomination has given us exposure that there is a potential act in East Africa, they have also provided us with a challenge of doing even better music and videos which by the way was one of our immediate plans we have a video 4by4 in store shot exclusively for MTV Base.”
BEFFTA which stands for Black Entertainment Fashion Film and Television Awards are a distinctively special awards ceremony honouring the best showbiz and entertainment personalities in the black and enthic communities in the UK, USA, Africa, Carribean and Canada.
