Uganda’s chances of winning some medals and probably qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in boxing continued to slim down when Fazil Juma Kaggwa was disqualified on Monday at the World Boxing Championships in Doha, Qatar.

The 2014 Commonwealth bronze medalist in Glasgow, Scotland was disqualified for excess weight implying that he could not play in the light fly category.
The development reduced the Bombers from three boxers to two as Rogers Ssemitala (Bantamweight) and Abdul Hassan (lightweight) are the only ones left to compete for the medals with Mike Ssekabembe (heavyweight) opting for the World Military Games in Korea.
The trip almost fell out due to lack of finances but President Museveni saved the day when he catered for the air tickets and upkeep that amounted $2520 on the eleventh hour allowing the team to travel late (on Sunday evening).
With all that in account, the mood in the Dick Katende-coached side can’t be any lower.
