Lweza FC

By James Robert Kayindi

After being thrashed 4-1 by Bul FC at Kakindu stadium in Jinja on Friday last week, Lweza FC remained camped in the region as they waited for their second consecutive away fixture against another Jinja based side, Sadolin Paints.

The Kajjansi Boys were not demoralized by their earlier defeat as they went on to collect their first win of the season after pipping Sadolin Paints 1-0 at Bugembe Stadium.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored the only goal of the game that secured Lweza maximum points against the Painters who finished off with ten men after Edgar Luzige received matching orders from the referee for unsporting characters.

Elsewhere, Sports Club Victoria University (SC VU) edged Soana FC 1-0 during their trip to Kavumba Recreation Stadium, thanks to a strike by Farouk Kawooya.

At Nelson Mandela National stadium, Robert Allan Male scored for Fred Kajoba’s side as Bright Stars F.C condemned The Saints to a 1-0 defeat.

The results put Lweza out of the relegation zone in 13th place with 3 points from 5 games while Sadolin are 10th with 6 points from 6 matches.

Victoria University are 9th on the log, Soana are 7th, Bright Stars are now 5th while The Saints lie in the relegation zone in 15th place with just 2 points.
