URA defeat on-form Soana as Police and The Saints share spoils

Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club condemned an on-form Soana Football Club to a 3-1 defeat to remain unbeaten after three games as their opponents suffered their first defeat of the season in a game played at Mehta Stadium in Lugazi yesterday.

From the onset, URA looked lethal no wonder Frank Kalanda shot them into the lead just after 3 minutes into the game.

The Tax Collectors continued to dominate play showing the advantage of playing at home before Kalanda scored his second of the evening which came in the 22nd minute to double the hosts’ lead.

Peter Lwasa hit the last nail into Soana’s coffin in the 91st minute while Mata Kaggwa picked the visitors only consolation goal.

Elsewhere, Police fc shared spoils with league debutants, The Saints as they played to a one-all draw at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium in Wakiso.

The result puts the Cops in 5th place with 6points in four games while The Saints are 14th with one point from 3 games.

URA 3-1 Soana
Police 1-1 The Saints
