Despite being an oil company, Vivo Energy also has a heart for the needy children. Staff of Vivo Energy Uganda visited Dawns special needs’ children’s home and spent time caring for the children.

Dawns special needs’ children’s home that caters for over 50 special needs children with conditions ranging from autism, slow speech and physical impairment among others was chosen for the visit after staff personally suggested possible places to benefit from the annual visit. The children receive special education and home care.

The children were excited by the surprise guests “Sitya loss Kids” who are famously known for their exotic dance moves in the BET award winning song Sitya Loss by Eddy Kenzo.

Vivo Energy Uganda donated Shell Gas for a year to the Special needs’ home. Cerinah Zalwango the Corporate Communications Manager noted that Vivo Energy prides in being part of the communities in which we operate. She went on to further clarify that Vivo Energy’s focus CSR Initiatives are in the areas of Education, Environment and Road Safety and therefore the visit is in line to further reaffirm Vivo Energy’s commitment along the course of becoming the Most Respected Energy Business in Africa.

“As a company, spending time with these children enables us to stay in touch and offer care. You have heard of the saying, a cheerful heart is good medicine. It has been a great experience watching these children filled with cheer from our visit and also seeing our staff come together to share their own resources,” Said Cerinah.

Florence Namaganda, the director of the home hailed Vivo Energy and noted that the children haven’t been this happy, excited and engaged in a long time. She expressed her gratitude for the one year Shell Gas donation as it will net off part of their costs. She further called on other players in the market to emulate Vivo Energy in this cause.
