This week started off normally, a Sudanese student had been suspended from St. Michael SSS, Ssonde while the head prefect was proud he’d done his job.
Little did he know that the suspended student would return in the middle of the night, stab him thus leading to his death.
But who was Brian Rukundo? What did he look like? To many of his friends, he was a jolly charming guy, the very personality trait that saw him win the elections for new student leaders. He had just celebrated his 18th birthday and was joyously looking forward to the 2016 elections.
On his Facebook account, he shared his passion for his best subject-computer studies. He spoke of the role of a control unit and operations of the machine cycle.
Like fellow students, he always talked of the beginning of the school and the unbelief at how holidays rush by so fast. He lamented about the beginning of term exams, the night preps and the mosquitoes that made night preps unbearable. Nevertheless, he always soldiered on.
He was happiest that come 2016, he was going to be part of the elections as a voter. He couldn’t wait to exercise his rights.
Yet, all that has been brought to a stop. A candle blown off by the stab of a fellow student, a Sudanese student whose whereabouts are unknown till now….
