After edging Buikwe She Red Stars by 3-2 on Saturday at the Nakivubo Stadium, Kawempe Muslim Secondary School were crowned champions of the inaugural FUFA women Elite league at a ceremony honoured by FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo.
On the day, league top scorer Sandra Nabweteeme of Kawempe Muslim was as usual on the score board with a brace while Yudaya Nakayenze was the other player on the score sheet for the Kawempe girls.
Sandra Nabweteeme won the golden boot of the inaugural FUFA women Elite league with a tally of 17 goals to her name.
For the third place play-off, She Corporate managed to overcome Western United 5-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in full-time play.
Besides a glittering trophy, the champions pocketed a cash prize of Ushs 3M while the runners up walked away with Ushs 2M.
