The Miss Tourism pageant was recently held in Karamoja at Mt. Moroto Hotel. Karen Nyagan, 21, was crowned the Miss Tourism Karamoja. Acheng Celestine and Grace Nyagan were the first and second runners up respectively.
Karen is a 2nd year student at MUBS pursuing a Bachelors in Procurement & Supply chain mgt. The beauty queen hopes to use her new position to promote the unique culture of the Karimojongs.
The crowning ceremony was graced by Moroto deputy RDC Hellen Pulkol who used the opportunity to call upon investors, tourists and traders to visit Karamoja.
