She is dubbed as one of the best vocalists that have ever emerged out of this country. She bounced on the scene with her creative piece of work in Stay, a video that won accolades at Club Music Video Awards a few years ago.
Her music blares in particular circles, those that have a keen ear for good music. Plus, she has been living in New York for a longtime with her popularity limited. However, the Crashing singer is set to leave New York and come back to Kampala.
She signaled a long post on her Facebook wall bidding farewell to the city where her dreams have blossomed. It was quite a teary post saying bye to her friends and contemporaries back in New York and literally opening another chapter in her life. She later flagged off the post with ‘Kampala, here I come’.
This could be a good move for Ugandan music. Her talent is not doubted. Uganda has seen talents like Tamba and Yvonne Kushe leave the country for outside countries.
Welcome home, Amaru. The fridge is open, make yourself some refreshment and, while at it, don’t swap that voice for anything else.
