When her father, Frank Gashumba found himself in a war of words with Makerere University students, he made up his mind never to take his daughter, Sheilah, to the Ivory tower. What followed was to enroll her into a foreign University.
As you read this, Sheilah Gashumba is back in school. The NTV the Beat Presenter is doing a course in journalism at the City Varsity School of Media and Creative Arts.
Sheilah turned down a bursary from Rich Gang’s Ivan Ssemwanga at one of his schools and opted for City Varsity.
She has already made friends in South Africa. She recently posted a photo with her new friends. It came with a caption; “I See These Beautiful Faces Every Monday Aspiring TV Presenters The World Better Be Scared about committed young TV Minds. SOUTH AFRICA GOT some amazing talented people.”
