Celebrated TV presenter Straka Mwezi was arrested and detained at Bunamwaya police station on Monday over rent fees.
According to our close sources, the Late night show presenter on WBS TV was caught by her landlord Tobai Nsubuga trying to flee a rented house on Monday morning at around 4am without paying rent arrears amounting to Shs 5,200,000 that she had defaulted for 8 months.
The landlord says that he was tipped off by the neighbors and he then came along with police officers who found the bummy presenter loading her property onto a truck before they intercepted, and arrested her together with her property.
He added that he had earlier approached courts of law for intervention last month and the Court brokers told Straka to pay the rent though she claimed that the court brokers instead ordered her to remove her things without paying first.
It should be noted Straka Mwezi is one of Uganda’s longest serving TV personalities at the Naguru based WBS TV station who started as an emcee in bars before she joined television.
