It was a great jam in 2013, it has a great video and has lived on through the years to make musical sense to date. The song Badilisha by Jose Chameleone has been re-done by an international artiste thanks to the creativity that the Leone Island boss put in it.
The Ethiopian singer called Beenie who is known for doing his own rendition of several artistes’ songs embarked on singing Badilisha in his own language and it was a mega hit. Although several fans ridiculed him on Social Media for copying Chameleone’s beats and singing his song, Beenie was strong and did his best promoting the song.
When Chameleone heard the song, he was not angered. He instead congratulated Beenie for doing his own rendition of the Badilisha song but cautioned him against copyright issues in future.
“I am glad there is someone who looks up to me in Ethiopia and has redone my song. I however caution Beenie not to break copyright laws in future as this may bring him consequences that he may not like. He should take the necessary steps before redoing a song next time,” he said.
Well done Beenie, Well done Chameleone.
