Despite bringing Bidco Uganda on board on Wednesday in a three year deal worth Ugx 300million, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has continued to cry out for more sponsors.
FUFA now has four companies on board with Airtel as the lead sponsor, Nile Breweries Limited, National Insurance Company Limited and the new sponsor, Bidco Uganda. However these are not enough to generate enough finances that the federation needs to continue developing the sport in the country.
The federation made their loud cry through Rogers Byamukama, the FUFA marketing director as he hailed the milestone reached upon by FUFA when they brought Bidco Uganda on board.
“FUFA is committed to looking for many more sponsorships to help the beautiful game develop. We are glad to have a partner who is driven by passion. We are happy for BIDCO having supported a football club (BUL F.C) at a time when the Jinja and Busoga region had no football in the top flight league. You are partnering with a product (Uganda Cranes) that transcends regional and tribal boundaries. Ensuring sponsorship is never a walk in the park,” reads Byamukama’s statement on the federation’s website.
