The once talk of the city producer Renix of the famous D-records is no longer the man we knew three years back. After producing master pieces like Bogolako, Big Size, Ndisa Buti among other hit songs, Renix became the talk of the town as every recording artiste wanted to work with him.
News reaching BigEye.ug indicates that the producer now moves from door to door begging potential clients to work with his studio. Business is not so good for the producer, we have learnt. He has also cut his costs from UGX 300,000 for a single song and can now work for as low as UGX100,000.
Producer Renix, a Jinja indigenous, came to Kampala with the help of Sweet Kid who hired him to work at his D-Records but after gaining fame he threw in the towel and moved on to make his own studio which he named Power Records. It’s at this studio that Bebe Cool made most of his 2012-2013 hit songs. However, we learnt that after eyeing some success the producer delegated all his work to his junior producers who at most times never pleased the clients consequently driving them away.
