Musician Desire Luzinda was left in shock last weekend when only a hand full of fans turned up for her Valentines show in Gulu district. The singer who has been a big hit since her nude photos leaked to the public late last year placed the blame on fellow musicians Chameleone and Fille after the flop.
According to our sources, the singer said that she was in shock that people had mistaken her for Chameleone or Fille. “They didn’t turn up because of what those two did. They have been promising people shows and never showing up. Now fans in this region don’t trust any of the Kampala musicians. They thought I would not show up until I actually came on stage at 12 am when even the few who had showed up were about to leave,” she said.
To a larger extent the ‘Ekitone’ singer is right in blaming her fellow singers. Chameleone for instance promised fans a show and never showed up in Gulu last year in December. Fans had to be refunded by the organizers. The same happened when Fille was scheduled to perform only for her not to show up. Mc Kats, her hubby and manager, showed up with music CDs and calendars of the singer only to survive lynching by boda boda men who had come for the show.
