FUFA summons 100players ahead of the All-Africa Games

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has summoned 100 players under the age of 23 years ahead of the All Africa Games qualifiers that are due next month. During Wednesday’s weekly press conference at the FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala, FUFA technical committee Chairman Hamid Juma presented a list of 100 players that have been summoned for duty together with the training programs that the team will undertake which kick-off this Saturday.

“Training sessions start on Saturday, 31st January 2015 at Villa Park, Nsambya. Another one will be held at KCCA Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday, 1st February 2015. A final squad of 30 players will be selected from the main pool of the two training sessions who will enter residential training ahead of Mozambique clash,” reads a statement on the federation’s website.

The team will be under the charges of Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and will be helped by the experienced Frank Video Anyau.

“We want to field the right age players for this tournament that is why we have an intention of having national technical consensus. Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic will head the team and he will be assisted by Frank Anyau,” FUFA confirmed.

Uganda will face off with Mozambique in the first stages of the qualifiers and the winner after two legs will then clash with Ghana in the next round.

All Africa Games Qualifiers:

1st Round:

1st Leg: Mozambique Vs Uganda (20th–22nd February 2015)
Return leg: Uganda Vs Mozambique (6th – 8thMarch 2015)

2nd Round:

March – April 2015: Winner between Uganda/Mozambique Vs Ghana.
