Embattled Radio and TV personality, Denis Katongole, who was arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old senior one girl and later given police bond failed to show up at police yesterday as stipulated in his bond. New evidence against him was also submitted by the girl who was allegedly defiled.
Details of the new evidence tabled against him are not clear although sources believe that this will be a hard nut to crack for him if the authorities rely upon the new evidence. After being granted bail by Bweyogerere police following his wife Tendo’s efforts, the TV presenter decided to disappear for fear of being re-apprehended. Police are now in search for him.
The victim recorded her statement and pinned Katongole for forcing her into sex and then giving her 20,000shs for transport. Detectives also took her to the crime scene where she took them through what happened on the fateful day. Relatives got the TV presenter arrested after he refused to give them 220,000shs for their silence according to another source.
