Kiira Young football club has denied reports suggesting that their player Baker Lukooya has completed a move to league rivals of Kampala Capital City Authority football club (KCCA).
On Thursday, 15th January, 2015, the defending champions of the UPL, KCCA announced the signing of Baker Lukooya from Kiira Young without disclosing the transfer fee for the deal. They also revealed that the attacking midfielder had signed a three year contract with the Lugogo based club.
“KCCA is pleased to yet again confirm another new signing in attacking midfielder Baker Lukooya. The exciting left footed winger penned a three year deal at the club on Wednesday making it the third new confirmed signing in the January window,” reads the statement on the club’s website.
With barely a day after the official move of the skipper, Kiira Young club director Jimmy Lukwago allegedly stormed the FUFA house yesterday to question the authenticity of the boy’s move.
The tempestuous director said that the club hadn’t sold the player and that he still has contract to honour at the club. Reports have revealed that indeed Lukooya signed a two year contract with Kiira in May 2014 and it is due to expire in 2016.
“Lukooya penned a 2 year deal with Kira Young F.C on 22 May 2014 with a sign on of 12M. In the agreement, Lukooya signed to receive U.shs 600,000 per month with a transport fee of 5,000 per day and Ushs 50,000”, reads a statement on Kawowo.
KCCA are yet to explain themselves as regards to the player acquisition.
