The hosts of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Equatorial Guinea together with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will not take any chances when it comes to matters regarding the lethal Ebola epidemic. It’s for the same reason that initial hosts Morocco pulled out from hosting the tournament.

Equatorial Guinea and CAF have therefore decided that every arriving team for the Africa Cup shall will pass through the capital Malabo to undergo medical tests on Ebola just as a health precaution prior to the kick-off of the biennial tournament.

The football governing body (CAF) has therefore requested all teams and visitors to comply with any medical rules and regulations given to them by the host nation.

“Everyone arriving at the Nations Cup must respect the medical rules and regulations,” reads part of the official statement from CAF.

The tournament officially commences this Saturday as the hosts Equatorial Guinea take on Congo in the first game at Estadio de Bata Stadium while Burkina Faso will entertain Gabon in the second game.
