They say that after a storm comes a calm and this is true for one Ugandan musician, Desire Luzinda. The singer whose nudes leaked a few months ago plunging her in a pool of trouble with the law enforcers and the public is now smiling all the way to the bank and bagging a whopping 25 million shillings every week.
News on our desk indicates that Desire made 100 million shillings in December alone thanks to the leverage from the nude photos to the Desire brand. Every party in Kampala was not a party last month if Desire Luzinda was not on the list of entertainers. Her “Ekitone” song that is loved by fans and has enjoyed a lot of airplay has worked crowds at every party she is paid to sing at.
Last month, the singer attended a total of 26 shows with some in Kampala and others outside of the city. She bagged an average of 25 million shillings every week making her one of the most paid celebs of the month and earning more than some big company CEOs.
Despite all this, Desire is still being tracked by debtors who demand her 50 million shillings. The singer who is not a stranger to debts was arrested at the end of October 2014 for defaulting on debts. She was only released after her friends raised 10 million shillings of her 23 million debt.
The challenge is for Desire to keep bringing in the revenue that she has made in the past couple of months. Her new song Ebyama has started hitting clubs.
