Comedian Patrick Salvado has come out to express his opinion following the way many Ugandans have been criticizing the so called Basummer more particularly a group of Sangomas, Ugandans based in South Africa, for their reckless spending whenever they are in town for the festive season. Salvado says that they deserve to spend their money the way they deem fit because they hustle for it.
Here is what he posted on social media:
“Okay I think this has gone too far, my fellow Ugandans, let’s start practicing the art.. (I call it an art coz it needs Skill) of minding our own business, yes we are all entitled to our own opinion, but let Ur opinion not be biased, I’ve seen how all these Basummers have been judged most especially by the way they’ve been spending their money, yes even to me it’s an orthodox or I find it arrogant but ask Urself why shouldn’t they, that’s where the open mindedness comes in, I’m sure most of us have no clue or are speculative of how these guys make their money but let me tell u guys something, the few Basummers I’ve seen hustling.. really do HUSTLE, and all I can say is they deserve to spend their money the way they deem fit whether U approve of it or not, it’s their money, so just like how u don’t know how they made their money, pay no mind about how they spend it, giving to charity has to come from the heart not opinion or outcry or pressure, the person giving has to be willing to give.. So guys let’s cut these guys some slack.. Many people are here ranting and dissing these guys but they are back to their hustle and come summer.. They’ll come and do the same, the question to you is “WEKOLEDEWO KAKI??”
