Smile Communications Uganda, in the festive season, rewarded 14 of its lucky customers with Apple Air and Apple Mini iPads following the conclusion of its End of Year promotion dubbed ‘Win an iPad.’ The promotion that was launched on November 1st 2014 rewarded lucky customers who purchased Smile devices like MiFis and WiFi Routers between 1st November and 19th December 2014.

Speaking during a rewards party at the Smile Head Office in Bukoto, Nancy Muttu, Senior Manager-Marketing explained that the company is committed to continuously develop relevant products and services for its customers. “Our customers are key to success of Smile. Today, we are recognizing them for that important role. We shall not relent in showing our appreciation to our customers,” she noted.

During the duration of the promotion, a total of seven Apple Air and seven Apple Mini iPads were given away with one iPad Air and one iPad Mini being given away every week.

Smile launched Uganda’s first true 4G LTE network in Kampala in June 2013-revolutionising the way people access the internet.

In September 2014, following feedback from its customers, Smile launched the SmileON campaign, a service that keeps customers connected when their data runs out. Customers stay connected to Email, Social Networking Sites, Government Sites, Messaging, News Sites, Skype and Wikipedia. Customers who purchase the 5GB and larger data bundles automatically qualify for SmileON. The Smile 4G LTE network delivers the fastest internet in Kampala, Entebbe and Mukono and additional coverage is being rolled-out across Uganda in a phased approach over the next two years.

Smile’s vision is to be the broadband provider of choice in Uganda, enabling its customers to benefit fully from the internet.
