Rwenshama finally registered their first win of the season as they blew Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) out of water with a 3-2 defeat, yesterday at the Ssaza grounds in Mityana.
It was a straining moment for the league debutants who had only managed two draws and been condemned to eight defeats in their first 10-league matches with head coach Shafik Bisaso abandoning the team. The bottom league side seemed to have put all that aside yesterday when they took on the 5-record champions.
Caretaker David Bbaale seems to have taken the team back to the drawing board coming into this one which paid off, thanks to the brilliant efforts of lead striker Malingumu Julius who came through in the 19th minute of the game. Ezekiel Sseninde scored the second for the hosts on the evening.
URA’s Frank Kalanda gave them a consolation before Rwenshama’s Geoffrey Simbwa added insult to injury with the third strike that seemed to have defined the entire 90minutes.
In the 70th minute, URA’s Ngama Emmanuel had a well taken penalty that revived the hopes of the tax collectors but all was in vain.
Nonetheless, Rwenshama remained bottom on the table with 5 points from 11 games while URA remained 6th with 17 points on the UPL table.
