A carpenter from Jinja District is the third winner of a brand new Toyota Premio vehicle in the ongoing ‘Collect and Win’ Promotion with OMO.
Kamugisha Godwin Frank, a resident of Njeru, located in the outskirts of Jinja town emerged the highest collector of OMO Fast Action wrappers in Eastern Uganda and took home the grand prize of a brand new Toyota Premio.
Handing over the keys of the vehicle to Kamugisha, Diana Nabukenya, Unilever Uganda’s Marketing Manager said that the purpose of the ‘Collect and Win’ promotion is to reward OMO’s loyal customers.

“OMO has been part of Uganda’s households for over 60 years. Our customers have continuously made us the number one detergent in the country. This (Collect and Win) promotion is our way of rewarding their loyalty,” she said.
Adding, “We believe OMO Fast Action has completely transformed the washing experiences of our consumers as evidenced through the People’s Choice Quality Awards that have recognized OMO as the best washing detergent in Uganda.”
Kamugisha becomes the third winner of a Toyota Premio vehicle after Saidat Nabawanuka, a nursing student from Kisaasi near Kampala and Nakakabara Seruganya, a business womanhailing from Mbarara.
The huge crowd that had convened at the Jinja Taxi Park was gripped by tension as envelopes containing the names of the winners were read; starting with the fifth highest collector till only two customers were left on stage.
On reading out his name as the winner of the Toyota Premio, Kamugisha sunk to knees, fists tightly clenched in the air as he thanked the heavens for the gift.

A seemingly composed Kamugisha explained that together with his wife, they collected wrappers daily and prayed to God.
“Every day, I spread out the wrappers to dry then put them in envelopes and in the morning, delivered them to the collection point in town (Jinja). I am so happy that our hardwork has paid off. This vehicle will help ease my work because some of my clients stay very far. Thank you for keeping your promise, Unilever,” he said.
The other four collectors; Nabagala Zulaika from Kamuli, Bamale Juliet (Jinja), Hakim Luz (Mbale) and Naigaga Shamim (Iganga) walked away with a washing machine, a full duvet set and Flat Irons with Ironing Boards respectively.
Unilever’s Nabukenya advised those who did not win the vehicle to continue collecting OMO Fast Action wrappers as they are still in the race to win one of the remaining vehicles.
Six vehicles will be given out at the grand finale in Kampala on Saturday December 6, 2014.
To participate in the Collect and Win promotion, a customer has to collect Omo Fast Action wrappers, put them in an envelope with their details; name and telephone contact and drop them at the nearest collection point country wide.
