Soana FC wrote new history in the books of the Uganda Premier league (UPL) on Friday as they registered their first win of the season against league debutants Sadolin FC at the Kavumba Recreation stadium in Wakiso.
The relegation strugglers came through with a well taken penalty by Dan Wagaluka and the other goal from Siraje Turyamuhebwa to seal down a 2-0 win for Soana. However the win wasn’t enough to get them out of relegation as they remained 15th with 5 points from 10 games on the 16-team log.
Meanwhile, Sadolin F.C dropped to 12th position with 10points from 10games and will return in action next Friday, 5th December to face off with fellow league debutants Lweza F.C while Soana visit Kiira Young on Tuesday, 2nd December at Namboole stadium.
Elsewhere army based side, Simba held Sport Club Victoria University (SCVU) to a goalless draw in Bombo.
Five time record champions Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) thrashed Paul Nkata’s Kiira Young 4-0 at the Mehta stadium in Lugazi. Feni Ali scored a brace while Saidi Kyeyune and James Kasibante topped up the Tax collectors’ goal account.
