The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi has marked 20 years on the throne .It was 31st July 1993 when Ronald Mutebi was crowned at Naggalabi coronation site on Buddo Hill, Wakiso district. Actual cerebrations will however take place on August 3 at the Mengo Palace.The celebration date was changed to August 3 because the actual date — 31 July fell on a working day. However today, the Kabaka will officially reopen the royal mile commonly known as the Kabakanjagala Road.
The road which was beautified with more than 100 years old trees that had turned into one of the kingdom’s object of tourism, were mowed down to give way for the reconstruction and extension of Kabanjagala road in Mengo.
