After sucking Richard Makumbi as head coach for his persistent string of poor results in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) and drawing 1-1 with fellow league debutants and struggling Rwenshama, Soana host unbeaten Vipers at Kavumba Recreational Stadium in Wakiso tomorrow.
Soana have struggled adapting to the new pressure that comes with playing in the UPL since being promoted from the Big League and are yet to earn a single win in their first six fixtures of the league. The league debutants are at the bottom of the 16-team log with just 1point which they collected last week in a 1-1 draw against 10-man Rwenshama.
Under the charges of Edward Golola, Vipers have enjoyed a fabulous start in the new campaign, winning four and drawing just one of their first five games in the season. The exquisite start leaves them second on the table with 13points from five games and behind SC Villa who have a better goal difference but have also played a game more than them.
An industrious Mike Mutyaba will be the man to watch as he has been key in the team’s great performance after scoring a brace in their 2-2 draw when they hosted the defending champions KCCA at the Buikwe stadium before scoring one during their 2-1 win over Kiira Young at the same stadium.
