The Ministry of Sports and Education is set to meet with executives from the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) to discuss the pending matters regarding the game of football and its general governance in the country.
It should be noted that for a long time there has been a lot wrangles as regards to the legality with the body/company that has the rightful authority to control and govern the game of football. In this regard there are two Federations all which claim to be the rightful authorities that should be governing the game of football in the country.
The two Federations include one that is being led by Eng. Moses Magogo whose headquarters are located at the FUFA house in Mengo and the other that is under the leadership of Daniel Walusimbi who claim that the Magogo FUFA is operating illegally.
The FUFA that is under the leadership of Daniel Walusimbi requested to meet the concerned members from the ministry of Sports and Education to discuss how best they can work together with the ministry for the betterment of the game of football in the country. In the same meeting, they will discuss the operation of FUFA Limited which under the leadership of Eng. Moses Magogo that they claim is an illegal entity in the game.
In a letter addressed to the FUFA president (Daniel Walusimbi), the ministry asked to meet the federation’s executives to discuss pending matters tomorrow (Wednesday 29th October 2014) at the ministry headquarters in the 7th floor Boardroom at 10:00am.
