The recently concluded Miss Uganda pageant has been the talk of town after Leah Kalanguka hailing from Iganga district emerged winner, with widespread criticism questioning the crowning panel’s sense of beauty. Many of these negative comments came from ladies who claim could have done better if they were involved in the competitions.
However, some commenters commended Leah for her boldness and willingness to chase her dreams. She has also come out to spell it out for all her haters that they have a whole year to watch her success and there is nothing they can do about it.
In her own words she said, “Social media is good. Positivity is good and negativity is good. We are in a free world (and) everyone is free to say what they want. I am here for a purpose. Lots of girls out there would like to be in my position. But for this year it’s me.”
