The Uganda Premier League had lively action on match day six at the different stadiums around the country yielding a total of six goals from four games played on the day.

URA FC earned their first win of the season after defeating Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) by 1 – 0 at Metah stadium, Lugazi. Robert Ssentongo scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute that relieved Alex Isabirye (the URA head coach) of some pressure to impress.

Following their win, URA climbed from the bottom three to 9th position while SCVU dropped to the 10th position.

In Buikwe where unbeaten Vipers hosted the league champions Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), it was a four goal thriller at the end of the game. The reigning champions took an early lead through Brian Majwega who netted in the 5th minute before Alex Mutyaba answered for the hosts to put it to level four minutes after Majwega’s strike.

By half-time, KCCA had already regained their lead after Brian Umony netted the second goal. In the 65th minute, Mike Mutyaba came with an equalizer again to seal his brace on the day.

Elsewhere, Farouq Musisi Kizito scored the only goal of the day that gave Lweza FC their third win of the season as they hosted the struggling Soana FC. The UPL debutants under the charges of coach Viali Bainomugisha now stand 5th on the 16-team log with 9points while Soana remain at the bottom of the table in the 15th position with just 1point from six games.

SC Villa were lucky to pick their first away point when they paid a visit to Bul FC at the Kakindu stadium, Jinja. Sam Simbwa remains unbeaten in his three charges as the SC Villa manager, winning two and drawing one. Bul FC are now 6th on the table with 9points while Villa are at the top with 13points from 6games.

Match day six results:

Vipers 2-2 KCC
BUL 0-0 Sc Villa
Lweza 1-0 Soana
URA 1-0 SCVU
