Police FC reclaimed the top spot in the Uganda Premier League after a 3-1 victory over newly promoted side Sadolin FC in a game played at the Kavumba recreational center in Wakiso yesterday. Police took an early lead through team captain Siraje Ssevume who saw the back of the net in the 10th minute but Sadolin FC equalized 8 minutes later.
Police sealed their victory in the second half after Peter Sserunnyonjo and Osman Mutumba closed the scoring accounts on the day to give police a 3-1 win on the day.
Kayihura’s men remain unbeaten in five games played so far after a brilliant start in the new season. Angelo Lonyesi’s side have won three and drawn two of their first five games leaving them at the top of the UPL log with 11points.
In the second match on the day, newly promoted Lweza fc bagged their second win of the season at the Wankulukuku stadium that left them 6th on th UPL log. Frank Kalanzi with a brace and Julius Mutyaba gave Lweza FC a 3-0 victory over struggling Entebbe FC.
The league continues today with two games to be played as Soana takes on Simba at Kavumba Recreational Stadium while Express FC aka ‘Muwagizi wabanji’ host Kawempe based side Bright Stars.
