A San Francisco nudism activist said a series of “Nude Olympics” will be held Saturday to show support for arrested nudist athletes in Malaysia.
Gypsy Taub, a prominent supporter of nudist rights in San Francisco, announced Saturday’s “Nude Olympics” at Baker Beach will be the second event for the city after it previously hosted a similar event in 2008.

Taub said the games will be a symbolic protest against the arrests of participants in the “Malaysia Nudist Sports Games 2014,” which she said was held at one of the country’s national parks and included participants from “Singapore, Myanmar, India, and the Philippines” as well as Malaysia.
Taub said five participants were arrested after the August event and were each sentenced to 30 days in prison plus fines.
“The videographer got six months for ‘distribution and possession of pornographic material,'” Taub said.
Taub said “registration” for the games will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, and the events will include sumo wrestling, javelin throwing and a 50-meter “crab walk” race.
