Defending champions of the Pepsi beach soccer national championship, Kiira Young have been disqualified from the elite league. In a communication sent to the club and the beach soccer stake holders, the Beach Soccer Competitions Committee referred to Article 32 & 2 Section G and M respectively of the Pepsi Beach Soccer rules and took a decision to disqualify Kiira Young and Elites Club from the Pepsi Beach Soccer League season 2014/2015.
Playing by the rules as mandated, the Beach Soccer Committee has since then replaced Kiira Young and Elites Club with International University of East Africa and Mutesa I Royal University respectively. The disqualification of the two teams has however not changed the standing fixture as scheduled except the inclusion of new teams.
The reigning champions, Kiira Young have been given until 19th September, 2014 to return the trophy in their possession which is a property of FUFA and Uganda Beach Soccer Association.
