Exodus To Stardom winner Ali Mukwana has made a shocking revelation concerning the competition which was sponsored by KBC , Amplified Ltd and Roughtone’s Lamp Stand Records back in 2011.

In an interview with Vibeweekly Ali recounted how he fell out with Roughtone’s record label Lamp Stand after winning the coveted prize that saw him walk away with an Isuzu DMAX. Ali alleged that Lamp Stand Records did not fulfil their end of the bargain as he did not record any music with them despite having won a one year recording deal at the stable.

Ali who is known for his worship packaged songs said Roughtone’s record label was not willing to adjust the production style to suit his prefference which was worship music. “One year after i won Exodus to Stardom, i had not recorded a single song yet i had a recording deal” says Ali.

The artist who hails from Western province also recounted how his mum was chased from home after she bore twins, Ali Mukwana and his brother who he says was killed at birth as twins are considered a taboo where he comes from. “My father chased my mother for bearing twins and my step father refused to educate me after primary school education”. The “Jinsi Nilivyo Singer” told Vibeweekly that he first went to Mombasa to buy a gun to kill his father as a result of frustration.

“I was so angry at him for desserting me when i needed to go to school, fortunately when i arrived in Mombasa, a church took me in and thats when i got born again and changed my motive”. Ali’s life has since changed as he is now stable running businesses and a good music career to boot.
