A mother has invented an app that makes it impossible for her children to screen her calls again.
Ignore No More levels a cruel punishment at the modern teen if they have the indecency to ignore a prying parent.
When a call is ignored, the parent dismisses the idea that their child might be in the cinema, playing sports, attending a loud function or washing their hands, and immediately assumes they’re refusing to answer.
Consequently, the parent can then use the app to lock their child’s phone. The child can only unlock it by retrieving a pass-code from the parent.
Teenage years are tough – some might even say cruel – so it’s good to know there’s someone out there doing her utmost to make them even more embarrassing.
That mother is Sharon Standifird, from Houston, Texas. Sharon was so fed up with her son screening her calls that she decided to sit down with him and have a frank discussion as to why this was, highlighting the importance of trust, parental boundaries, responsibility and accountability during such a transitional period.
Well, she might have done but she also took classes in app design, hired a number of web developers and engineers, and built an app.
‘We need to develop an app that just shuts their phone completely down and they can’t even use it,’ Standifird told CBS. ‘And I started — literally just started researching how to develop an app.’
Standifird says her son now replies to her calls and texts with greater efficiency.
