Hopes continue to go down for Uganda as Uganda Rugby Cranes Sevens suffered defeat by Australia at the Commonwealth rugby games in Glasgow. It was 3:12pm when the game kicked off at the TIBROX stadium and Uganda was beaten 43-05 by the end of the game.
Unlike in Delhi, India four years back when Uganda lost to the same opponent 33-0, this time round not only did they lose with a bigger defeat in terms of score but were also able to score a few points.
However despite the early defeat, all hope is not lost for the Uganda Rugby Cranes Sevens as they still have two games to play. Nevertheless it’s such a huge mountain for the Sevens to climb in their attempt to qualify for the next stage. Assistant coach Yayiro Kasasa remains optimistic that his team can still go ahead and make things happen.
Like earlier mentioned, Uganda will play against England who thrashed them 55-0 four years ago in India in their next game at 8:24pm at TIBROX Stadium. Uganda now has a very huge task ahead of them as they have to beat England to enlighten the chances of qualifying to the next stage before facing Sri Lanka in their final game later at 10:42pm in the same stadium.
