Brad Friedel

Brad Friedel has signed a new deal at Tottenham – to keep him playing until the grand old age of 45.

Friedel will carry on as number two to Hugo Lloris, saving Spurs a fortune finding a replacement into the bargain.

The popular American only made a handful of appearances last season but his form and fitness is still top level.

Friedel is also going to get a special United States ambassador role for Tottenham who are looking to expand commercially across the Atlantic.

He has been at the club since 2011, when he moved from Aston Villa.
